<p>An Islamic State (IS) terrorist took a selfie with the ISIS headquarters building in Syria in the backdrop, and the centre was bombed in less than 24 hours by the US Air Force.<br />
 <br />
The location was tracked down using the selfie as a reference point, The Times of Israel reported.<br />
 <br />
According to US Air Force General Hawk Carlisle, the airmen from Hurlburt Field, Florida were the first to look and scan the selfie.<br />
 <br />
Carlisle described the terrorist as a "moron".<br />
 <br />
"The (airmen) were combing through social media and they see some moron standing at this command," Carlisle was quoted by reports as saying.<br />
 <br />
"The intelligence team, shortly bombed the site in Syria", he said.<br />
 <br />
"So they do some work, long story short, about 22 hours later through that very building, three JDAMS take that entire building out. Through social media. It was a post on social media. Bombs on target in 22 hours," Carlisle posted.<br />
 <br />
According to UN, Syria has been the epicentre of heavy conflict since March 2011, resulting in the death of 220,000 people.<br />
 <br />
US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, "The US-led military campaign to eradicate Islamic State (IS) has killed more than 10,000 of its fighters in Iraq and Syria in last nine months."<br />
 <br />
The countries conducting airstrikes in coalition in Syria include US, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.</p>

<p>The hordes in high spirits from Spain and Italy blanketed the German capital on Saturday, many easily identifiable in their team colours.<br />

They were nevertheless united in their hopes that the Fifa scandal would go away - at least for the day.<br />
 <br />
"This is the best part of football - the fans and the players. We're here because we love the game," said Pasquale D'Andrea, a 23-year-old student from Foggia, Italy wearing a black and white Juve jersey.<br />
 <br />
"This isn't about money. The people at the top of Fifa only care about the money. They should get lost."<br />
 <br />
World soccer's governing body was plunged into the worst crisis in the organisation's 111-year history on May 27 when Swiss police staged a dawn raid in Zurich and arrested several officials on corruption charges filed by US prosecutors in New York.<br />
 <br />
Adrian Adell, a 25-year-old pharmacist proudly wearing Barcelona's blue and maroon colours in front of the stadium, said the Champions League final was the only thing that mattered on Saturday.<br />
 <br />
"Fifa is ruining football," he said. "It's a terrible thing when these people in power take advantage of the passions of the fans. But today the only thing that matters is the game."<br />
 <br />
Standing nearby in his Barca jersey was Ivan Tirade, a 37-year-old shopkeeper from Valencia getting in the mood for his fourth Champions League final.<br />
 <br />
"I don't care about the Fifa scandal today, maybe tomorrow," he said. "We're here to see a great match."<br />
 <br />
Francesca Lombardo, a 26-year-old office clerk from Glarus, Switzerland who said she's been a Juve fan "since I was born" thanks to Italian father, shared Tirade's view, saying she doesn't know or care much about the Fifa scandal.<br />
 <br />
"It's a big deal in Switzerland but I don't care. I only care about the game."<br />
 <br />
But Barca fan Omar Trevino, a 37-year-old manager at Airbus in Hamburg, defended outgoing Fifa president Sepp Blatter.<br />
 <br />
"He was actually really good at managing people. He had everything under control for a many years," he said. "I thought Fifa was well managed but we never knew what was behind it all."<br />
 <br />
Ralf Rodemayer, a technician from Zell am See in Austria, has been a Barca fan for 20 of his 26 years.<br />
 <br />
"It's time to celebrate soccer again and not moan about all that's wrong with Fifa," he said. "It's time to rally around the guys in the jerseys and not the jerks in their suits."</p>

<h5 class=" print-only">Bangladesh and India have pushed for stronger bilateral ties during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic Dhaka visit.</h5>

<p>A number of deals have been signed including one for exchanging enclaves, ending the contentious bilateral issue that has been lingering since 1974.</p>
<p>The neighbouring countries have also agreed for greater regional connectivity for the development of South Asia.</p>
<p>Bangladesh and India renewed bilateral trade agreement and a protocol on inland water transit and trade.</p>
<p>A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for extending a $2 billion line of credit by India.</p>
<p>Other MoUs covered areas like blue economy and maritime cooperation in the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean.</p>

<p>The unresolved Greek debt impasse, which is weighing on financial markets and could hit global economic recovery, will hang over a Group of Seven leaders' summit in Germany starting on Sunday.<br />
 <br />
A German spokesman said Tsipras was not invited to the G7 talks.<br />
 <br />
Greece postponed a payment due to the International Monetary Fund on Friday until the end of June, highlighting its precarious cash position and spooking markets, but giving itself a few more days to negotiate a deal linked to some future debt relief.<br />
 <br />
In a defiant speech to parliament on Friday, the leftist prime minister balanced indignation at what he called "a very bad negotiating trick" with confidence that a deal was "closer than ever before" to keep his country in the currency bloc.<br />
 <br />
An EU diplomat said Tsipras would fly to Brussels on Tuesday before a two-day EU-Latin America summit, and that would be an opportunity for political talks on a solution, while experts from Greece and the EU/IMF lenders work on detail in parallel technical negotiations.<br />
 <br />
By focusing anger on two of the lenders' key demands - the scrapping of an income supplement for the poorest pensioners and the hiking of value-added tax on electricity - Tsipras left open possible alternatives to those measures to clinch an agreement.<br />
 <br />
EU diplomats have said mid-June is the final deadline for a deal to secure ministerial approval and parliamentary backing for disbursement before Greece's 240 billion bailout expires at the end of the month.<br />
 <br />
The lenders added an incentive by raising the prospect of releasing an additional 10.9 billion euros in frozen funds originally earmarked for bank recapitalisation to tide Athens over a big repayment hump in July and August.<br />
 <br />
German Chancellor Angela Merkel tried to force a deal before she chairs an annual meeting of leaders of major industrial democracies at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria from Sunday.<br />
 <br />
She is keen to avoid it turning into another crisis summit on the euro zone that would showcase Europe's difficulties in resolving the problems of its single currency.<br />
 <br />
<strong>No lectures</strong><br />
 <br />
European officials said they did not want to be lectured on Greece by US President Barack Obama, but they expected Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk, to discuss the way forward to a solution on the sidelines.<br />
 <br />
An Obama administration official briefing reporters ahead of the G7 said: "We're obviously encouraging all sides to continue to focus on finding a solution that’s going to allow Greece to chart a path to recovery."<br />
 <br />
Tsipras is under pressure to sign a deal this month while trying to placate hardliners in his Syriza party who oppose the terms creditors are demanding.<br />
 <br />
One far-left deputy minister suggested snap elections as a way out, by obtaining public legitimacy for difficult decisions to secure aid.<br />
 <br />
But two ministers said on Saturday they saw no case for an early poll and an opinion poll showed Greeks have little appetite for a return to the ballot box just five months after Tsipras won power on a radical leftist agenda to end austerity.<br />
 <br />
The poll by Metron Analysis for Parapolitica weekly showed only 35 percent of Greeks want the government to refuse to compromise with lenders, while 47 percent want it to reach a deal even if it means making concessions.<br />
 <br />
Some 73 percent saw no need for new elections to approve an eventual accord, compared with 22 percent who said a popular vote was necessary.<br />
 <br />
The survey also showed 79 percent want to remain in the euro zone, confirming previous poll findings.<br />
 <br />
The conciliatory public mood contrasted with anger among Syriza leftists at the lenders' proposal that crossed many of the government's "red lines", demanding tax hikes, privatising strategic state assets and refraining from any unilateral action to restore collective bargaining, as well as the pension cuts.<br />
 <br />
Tsipras called on the creditors to accept Greece's rival proposal that would reverse labour and pension reforms, calling it the only "realistic" proposal on the table.<br />
 <br />
"The Greek government cannot consent to absurd proposals," Tsipras told lawmakers.<br />
 <br />
He also refused to sign any deal that does not include the debt relief he has long demanded.<br />
 <br />
Greece wants to restructure its huge debt through a mix of cheaper refinancing, extending maturities, switching some loans into perpetual or GDP-linked bonds and a principal write-off, but the plans have no support in the euro zone.<br />
 <br />
On Thursday, Athens decided to bundle some 1.6 billion euros it was scheduled to pay the IMF in four instalments into a single payment at the end of June, skipping a 300 million euro payment due on Friday.<br />
 <br />
It was the first time in five years of crisis that Greece has postponed a repayment on its bailouts from euro zone governments, the European Central Bank and the IMF. The rare tactic does not constitute a default.</p>

<p>The two explosions, which Erdogan termed a "provocation" designed to undermine Sunday's election, tore through a rally of the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in Diyarbakir, largest city in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast.<br />

However, if the HDP clears a 10 percent hurdle to enter parliament that could thwart his ambitions.<br />

Hundreds joined a convoy of cars heading to a funeral for a 16-year-old boy. Onlookers made the victory sign and chanted "martyrs don't die" and "AKP you will pay for this".<br />
 <br />
"If it weren't for Chairman Selahattin there would have been a lot of bloody and violent events yesterday," said retired 61-year-old Mehmet, referring to Friday's call for calm from HDP leader Selahattin Demirtas.<br />
 <br />
Demirtas has sought to extend support for the HDP beyond its Kurdish core with appeals to centre-left and secular opponents of Erdogan who has assumed an increasingly religious tone in recent months.<br />
 <br />
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said "a dirty hand, a provocative hand" had targeted democracy itself.<br />
 <br />
<strong>Terrifying crush</strong><br />
 <br />
Witness Guy Martin, a British photographer, told Reuters the blasts occurred some five minutes apart - the first in a rubbish bin and the second in front of a power generator.<br />
 <br />
He saw one person who had lost a leg and others with shrapnel wounds.<br />
 <br />
"It was a heart-shaking, ribcage-shaking noise," he said. "The most terrifying thing is that crush of people."<br />
 <br />
Police fired water cannon and tear gas to disperse crowds after the blasts, witnesses said.<br />
 <br />
Nationalists clashed with HDP supporters at a Demirtas rally in the northern town of Erzurum.<br />
 <br />
Demirtas has said his party has been the target of more than 70 violent attacks during the campaign, including a double bombing in southern Turkish cities last month which wounded six.<br />
 <br />
He says the HDP will continue to promote peace talks between Kurdish rebels and the government whatever the election outcome.<br />
 <br />
Erdogan has accused the HDP of being a front for the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which took up arms in 1984 in an insurgency that has killed 40,000 people.<br />
 <br />
Jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan and Ankara launched peace talks more than two years ago.<br />
 <br />
Twelve HDP supporters were detained in Istanbul in an operation targeting a PKK youth wing, an HDP spokesman said. Another nine were held in southeast Turkey's Bitlis province.</p>

<p>Modi arrived in Dhaka on Saturday morning a two-day state visit. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, arrived a day ahead. </p>
<p>“We have resolved a question that has lingered since Independence. Our two nations have a settled boundary,” said Modi about the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA). </p>
<p>Documents of the ratification of the LBA were exchanged at noon on Saturday. </p>
<p>It will kick start the process of implementing the 41-year old deal, ending stateless lives of more than 50,000 people in 161 enclaves on both sides of the border.</p>
<p>Bangladesh and India shared an ‘interconnected destiny’, he said.  </p>
<p>“We are not just neighbours but nations bound by the threads of history, religion, culture, language and kinship and a passion four cricket!”</p>

<p>The new vessels will be able to dock at a new port being constructed on Taiping Island, the largest of the naturally occurring Spratly Islands in the South China Sea, before the end of this year.<br />
 <br />
Taiwan's coast guard has had direct oversight of the 46-ha (114-acre) island, also known as Itu Aba, since 2000.<br />
 <br />
"Taiping Island's defence capabilities will not be weak," said Wang Chung-yi, minister of the Coast Guard Administration, referring to recent upgrading done on the 1,200-metre (yards) long airstrip on Taiping and the building of a new port, which he said could be completed as early as October this year.<br />
 <br />
"As far as Taiping Island is concerned, we still maintain not so much a military as a civil role," Wang told Reuters in an interview in Taipei.<br />
 <br />
Taiwan will not create conflict, but if it is provoked "we will not concede," he said.<br />
 <br />
Unlike the Philippines and Vietnam, Taiwan has largely avoided becoming ensnared in public disputes with China over the South China Sea, through which $5 trillion in ship-borne trade passes every year.<br />
 <br />
Beijing claims most of the South China Sea, while the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam also have overlapping claims.<br />
 <br />
Rival claims by Taiwan and China go back to before defeated Nationalists fled to Taiwan after losing a civil war with the Communists in 1949.<br />
 <br />
Beijing sees self-ruled Taiwan as a renegade province to be retaken one day and bans actions that would confer sovereignty, such as negotiating territorial disputes in the South China Sea.<br />
 <br />
Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou boarded one of the new ships on Saturday, observing rescue drills in waters off the southern Taiwan port city of Kaohsiung.<br />
 <br />
One of the vessels will be sent to the South China Sea, while the other will be assigned to waters north of Taiwan where it has overlapping claims with Japan.<br />
 <br />
Japan's Yomiuri newspaper reported on Saturday that Group of Seven leaders meeting in Germany on Sunday would express their concern over any unilateral action to change the status quo in the East and South China Seas.<br />
 <br />
China has been criticised for extensive reclamation work and moves to turn submerged rocks into man-made structures.<br />
 <br />
The United States last week said Beijing had placed mobile artillery systems in contested territory.</p>

<p>In the first use of the long range ballistic Scud in the conflict, the missile was fired early Saturday morning at the city of Khamees Mushait in the kingdom's southwest and was intercepted by two Patriot missiles, a statement by the Saudi military said.<br />

The area is home to the largest air force base in southern Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter, but there are no oil facilities in the vicinity.<br />
 <br />
Al Masira, the Houthi group's official channel, confirmed the launch and said it targeted the Prince Khaled air base.<br />
 <br />
An alliance of Gulf Arab nations has been bombing Yemen's Houthi militia and allied army units loyal to powerful ex-President Ali Abdullah Saleh since March 26 in an attempt to restore exiled President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to power.<br />
 <br />
The coalition has said a main goal of its war effort is to neutralise the threat that rockets in Yemen pose to Saudi Arabia and its neighbours.<br />
 <br />
A Saudi spokesman for the coalition said in April that the alliance had succeeded in removing the threat of heavy weapons to the Kingdom and its neighbours, but the air war and border clashes have persisted.<br />
 <br />
The Sunni Muslim coalition states also fear the Houthis, hailing from a Shia sect in Yemen's far north, will act as a proxy for the influence of their arch-rival, Shia Iran, in the Arabian Peninsula.<br />
 <br />
Iran and the Houthis deny any military or economic links, and the Houthis say their seizure of the capital Sanaa in September and their advance southward is part of a revolution against a corrupt government.<br />
 <br />
<strong>Border battle</strong><br />
 <br />
Arab air strikes have pounded arms and missile stores in the capital Sanaa and other military bases in Yemen almost every day, but the firing of the Scud -- an 11-metre (35-foot) long ballistic missile with ranges of 300 km (200 miles) and more -- shows the country's supply has not yet been eliminated.<br />
 <br />
Saleh, Yemen's autocrat president from 1978 to 2012, was forced to step down amid Arab Spring street protests but retains most of the army's loyalty and has joined forces with the Houthis in combat with Hadi's armed backers in Yemen's south.<br />
 <br />
Saudi-owned Al Arabiya TV described overnight ground fighting along the border as the "largest attack" yet by Houthi forces and Yemen's republican guard, a unit close to Saleh.<br />
 <br />
"It was the first confrontation undertaken by Saleh's (Republican) guard, and coalition planes and Saudi Apache (helicopters) undertook ground fire for 10 hours," said Al Arabiya's correspondent in the southern Jizan region.<br />
 <br />
Hamed al-Bukhaiti, a Houthi spokesman, indicated that the group had embarked on an escalation along the border.<br />
 <br />

<p>Sheikh Hasina said this in a joint statement released after what she described as “a very fruitful bilateral talks” with visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. </p>
<p>The Bangladesh leader said new deals and protocol and the flagging off bus services were “examples of their commitment to seamless connectivity across the region”. </p>
<p>“The signing of the Coastal Shipping Agreement, the renewal of the Trade Agreement and the Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade, as well as the flagging off new bus services are examples of our commitment to seamless connectivity across the region to reduce inequalities and maximizing welfare gains,” Hasina said.</p>
<p>The prime minister said they decided to open Bangladesh mission in Guwahati and Indian missions in Khulna and Sylhet since “people-to-people contact is the strongest of our links”.</p>
<p>“This again,” according to her, “reflects our growing mutual confidence and shared commitment to expand our relationship." </p>
<p>Modi assured her of his government's cooperation to narrow the trade deficit. Hasina said to “bring balance in trade between the two countries”, they agreed to establish Special Economic Zones in Mongla and Bheramara for India.</p>
<p>“We hope, this would increase Indian investment in Bangladesh substantially.”</p>
<p>She stated at the beginning of her speech: “This is truly a historic moment. We are transforming our relationship to a greater height.”</p>

<p>Even a tiny double room in a hotel with limited service can set you back 30,000 yen ($240) a night in central Tokyo these days. But if you look a little more, you can bed down in comfort for a mere fraction of that.<br />
 <br />
Just 10 minutes' walk from Tokyo's famous Akihabara shopping district, an eight-storey white building called Grids stands among office and apartment blocks.<br />
 <br />
The hotel, a conversion of a 34-year-old office building that opened in April, offers rooms from 3,300 yen to about 5,000 yen a person.<br />
 <br />
A bunk bed in a shared room is the cheapest option, and comes with slippers, a bath towel and a locker and key.<br />
 <br />
A 12 square-meter standard double with a shared shower and toilet costs just 3,600 yen a person.<br />
 <br />
If you've come with family or friends, the top floor has a 28 square meter premium room with tatami mats on a raised floor where guests can lay out futons for four, costing about 5,000 yen per person.<br />
 <br />
"Converting an office building into a hotel is an ideal way to respond to the immediate needs for hotel rooms," said Yukari Sasaki, senior managing officer for Sankei Building Co, a property developer for Grids.<br />
 <br />
"Building a hotel from scratch costs too much money now because of high construction costs," she added.<br />
 <br />
It typically takes about three years to build a new hotel, while Sankei spent less than a year to open Grids once it started planning last summer.<br />
 <br />
Sankei has already secured another property for Grids in the Nihonbashi district not far from Tokyo station and is planning to build more in Kyoto and Osaka.<br />
 <br />
A record 13.4 million foreigners visited Japan last year, partly thanks to the weaker yen.<br />
 <br />
Japan aims to boost that to 20 million by 2020, the year of the Tokyo Olympics, and 30 million by 2030.<br />
 <br />
<strong>Grids, cabins and hours</strong><br />
 <br />
First Cabin also runs hotels converted from office buildings in six cities nationwide.<br />
 <br />
It charges about 5,500 yen for a "business class cabin" with a single bed and no additional space. That is slightly larger than a unit in one of Japan's famous capsule hotels, but comes with enough headroom for guests to stand up.<br />
 <br />
For an 1,000 yen, you can get a "first class cabin" with space to open up a suitcase and change.<br />
 <br />
First Cabin in Tsukiji, near Tokyo's famous fish market, is a converted office building with a cafe on the ground floor that becomes a wine bar at night.<br />
 <br />
Guests bathe in communal bathrooms large enough for about 10 people.<br />
 <br />
There are also "nine hours" hotels, based on the notion that people sleep for seven hours and need one hour at either end, at Narita International Airport and in Kyoto.<br />
 <br />
These feature "sleep pods" which look similar to capsule hotels but are more stylish and claim to have better mattresses.<br />
 <br />
"Our service is limited to beds and showers," said Takahiro Matsui, chief executive officer of Nine Hours Inc, which runs the hotel. "But we provide the best quality for what we offer."<br />
 <br />
Nine Hours in Kyoto is a nine-story structure with 125 pods, while the one in Narita occupies one large floor of an office building.<br />
 <br />
The company plans to open more Nine Hours hotels in the future, Matsui said.<br />
 <br />
Finally, for those who want a more interactive experience, the Sakura Hotel chain in Tokyo that was built around 2007 organises tours including trips to see sumo wrestling and visits to sumo stables to watch the wrestlers practice, and it even lays on sushi roll-cooking classes.<br />
 <br />
Room rates vary from 3,000 yen per person for a bunk bed to around 7,000 yen for a single room.<br />
 <br />

Attacking Banerjee for pulling out of the then prime minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Dhaka in 2011, Gandhi questioned the Trinamool Congress supremo's change of heart that prompted her to join Modi on his two-day trip to Bangladesh.<br />

"When Manmohan Singh went to Dhaka and asked her to accompany, Mamata ji said 'no' asserting she wanted 'ekla chalo re' (go your own way alone). But now with Modi, she is not singing 'ekla chalo re' (go alone).<br />
 <br />
"Why is this friendship between Modi and Mamata, what is the reason of this friendship, you all know the answer," Gandhi said addressing party workers here.<br />
 <br />
Gandhi said both Modi and Mamata had a habit of making tall promises with no intentions to fulfil them.<br />
 <br />
"Both Modi and Mamataji make only promises. Mamata has been saying industry is coming to Bengal, but I ask has a single unit been set up here. She says youth will get jobs but there are over one crore jobless youth in Bengal," said Gandhi.<br />

Accusing the Trinamool government of stunting Bengal's development Gandhi took a dig at Banerjee's 'whimsical' ways saying she has misinterpreted Rabindranath Tagore's masterpiece 'Ekla Chalo re'.<br />

"She has misinterpreted ekla chalo re and has been running Bengal without listening to anybody. She has nothing to do with what her party leaders say or what the youth have to say," said Gandhi.<br />
 <br />
Calling on the party workers to stand up against Trinamool's violence, Gandhi said Bengal will go ahead on the road to development only if Congress comes to power in the state.<br />
 <br />
"The (CPI-M) led Left Front who have a hammer in their party symbol used to hammer the soul of Bengal. Looking for respite, people brought in the Trinamool hoping its symbol, the flower will bloom. But to the people's misfortune, the flower turned out to be more destructive than the Left's hammer.<br />
 <br />
"The Left had put a brake on Bengal's growth and the Trinamool had put both its feet on the brake. It's time for Mamata to vacate the seat and if you want the vehicle of progress to move ahead then bring Congress to power. I am there with you all. I am ready to receive Mamata stick blows but will always stand beside you," added Gandhi.</div>

<p>The breach of computer systems of the Office of Personnel Management was disclosed on Thursday by the Obama administration, which said records of up to 4 million current and former federal employees may have been compromised.<br />
 <br />
A total of 2.1 million current US government workers were affected, according to a source familiar with the FBI-led investigation into the incident.<br />
 <br />
Accusations by US government sources of a Chinese role in the cyber attack, including possible state sponsorship, could further strain ties between Washington and Beijing.<br />
 <br />
Tensions are already heightened over Chinese assertiveness in pursuit of territorial claims in the South China Sea.<br />
 <br />
The hacking also raises questions about how the United States would respond if it confirmed that the Chinese government was behind it.<br />
 <br />
Several US officials, who requested anonymity, said the hackers were believed to have been based in China but that it was not yet known if the Chinese government or criminal elements were involved.<br />
 <br />
Another US official said the breach was being investigated as a matter of national security, meaning it may have originated from a foreign government.<br />
 <br />
The cyber attack was among the most extensive thefts of information on the federal work force, and one US defence official said it was clearly aimed at gaining valuable information for intelligence purposes.<br />
 <br />
"This is deep. The data goes back to 1985," a US official said. "This means that they potentially have information about retirees, and they could know what they did after leaving government."<br />
 <br />
Access to data from OPM's computers, such as birth dates, Social Security numbers and bank information, could help hackers test potential passwords to other sites, including those with information about weapons systems, the official said.<br />
 <br />
"That could give them a huge advantage," the official said.<br />
 <br />
According to a US House of Representatives memo seen by Reuters, OPM knows what types of data were exposed to the hackers but not what data was taken.<br />
 <br />
The memo was sent to House staff by Chief Administrative Officer Ed Cassidy, whose office provides support services to the House, including cyber security services.<br />
 <br />
In addition, the State Department said in a memo to its employees that most of them had not been exposed to the breach because their data was not housed on the hacked OPM systems.<br />
 <br />
Only those who had previously been employed by another federal agency may have been exposed, it said.<br />
 <br />
Investigators have linked the OPM breach to earlier thefts of personal data from millions of records at Anthem Inc, the second largest US health insurer, and Premera Blue Cross, a healthcare services provider.<br />
 <br />
It was the second computer break-in in less than a year at OPM, the federal government's personnel office, and the latest in a string of cyber attacks on US agencies, some of which have been blamed on Chinese hackers.<br />
 <br />
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said such accusations had been frequent of late and were irresponsible. Hacking attacks were often cross-border and hard to trace, he said.<br />
 <br />
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, "It's not clear who the perpetrators are," but he noted that President Barack Obama and his aides regularly raise with their Chinese counterparts concerns about Chinese behaviour in cyberspace.<br />
 <br />
Disclosure of the latest computer breach comes ahead of the annual US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue scheduled for June 22-24 in Washington, DC.<br />
 <br />
Cyber security was already expected to be high on the agenda.<br />
 <br />
US officials said the talks would proceed as scheduled, as would Obama's plans to host Chinese President Xi Jinping on a state visit to Washington in the fall.<br />
 <br />
<strong>US likely to move cautiously</strong><br />
 <br />
At Friday's White House briefing, Earnest dodged the question of whether Washington might retaliate if it was determined that a state had been involved in the hacking.<br />
 <br />
In December, US officials moved swiftly to accuse North Korea of being behind a high-profile attack on Sony over a movie depicting the assassination of North Korea's leader, and Obama vowed that the United States would respond.<br />
 <br />
Some lawmakers and defence officials want a more aggressive US stance against cyber breaches, including legislation to strengthen US cyber defences.<br />
 <br />
But the administration is likely to move cautiously in response to any Chinese role, mindful of the potential harm from escalating cyber warfare between the world's two biggest economies.<br />
 <br />
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a probe of the OPM attack, and vowed that it would bring to account those responsible for the hacking.<br />
 <br />
OPM detected new malicious activity affecting its information systems in April and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it concluded early in May that OPM's data had been compromised and about 4 million workers may have been affected.<br />
 <br />
Hackers hit OPM's IT systems and its data stored at the Department of the Interior's data centre, a shared service centre for federal agencies, a DHS official said on condition of anonymity.<br />
 <br />
Chinese hackers were also blamed for penetrating OPM's computer networks last year, The New York Times reported last July, citing unidentified US officials.<br />
 <br />
James Lewis, a cyber security expert at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies think tank, said the US disclosure of the hacking could signal Washington's plan to push hard on cyber issues at this month's talks.<br />
 <br />
“The Chinese have been saying privately, and somewhat in public, that we want the summit to go really well. 'Let’s not talk about espionage. Let’s talk about how we can work together'," said Lewis, a former State Department official.<br />
 <br />
"This might be a US response to that: 'No, we are going to talk about espionage’."</p>

<p>He defended his move at the post-budget press conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.</p>
<p>The minister proposed a 5 percent supplementary duty on mobile phone services, on SIM or RIM cards in his budget speech for FY 2015-16 placed in Parliament on Thursday.</p>
<p>Mobile-phone operators say the additional duty would raise costs of voice call and data transfer.</p>
<p>Answering questions from journalists, he said: “We’ve fixed a duty on mobile-phone talk-time. It (duty on mobile-phone services) is levied not only in Bangladesh, but in many other countries.</p>
<p>“There is huge growth in this sector. We’ve done it (imposition of duty) considering that they can pay it.”</p>
<p>Muhith said he had proposed to cut duty on mobile SIM or RIM card from Tk 300 to Tk 100.</p>
<p>Mobile-phone operators have welcomed the proposal but said the duty on mobile-phone services would affect use of information and communication technology and deter the growth in the sector.</p>
<p>Country’s largest operator Grameenphone already said in an SMS to its subscribers: “As per government decision, 5 percent supplementary duty has been imposed on mobile-phone use, which will be applicable for all sorts of services.”</p>
<p>Now a user has to pay 15 percent VAT.</p>
<p>The Cabinet on Mar 20 approved a draft law which provided for imposition of 1 percent surcharge on mobile-phone services.</p>
<p>According to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, over 124.7 million people are now using mobile-phones in the country. The number of mobile internet users is 44.2 million.</p>

Modi presented the gift before the two leaders sat for a meeting.<br />

Located in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, Venkatagiri is famous for handlooms, and its weavers have adopted the fine Jamdani weaving technique while assimilating traditional designs of the region.<br />
 <br />
The artwork in this tapestry shows the Kalpavriksh tree and the Kamadhenu cow which are regarded as auspicious and bestower of prosperity.<br />
 <br />
The tapestry has been woven using very fine cotton yarn and pure gold thread, with both the warp and the weft having the same count of cotton yarn.<br />
 <br />
It has been prepared by Nellore’s national award winning artist and master craftsman Gowrabathini Ramanaiah.</p>

Officials earlier told bdnews24.com that contentious issues like security, border management and water sharing would feature high on the meeting agenda.<br />

“These might be reflected in a joint statement” that the two leaders will issue later on Saturday, they said.<br />
 <br />
Modi arrived in Dhaka on Saturday morning on a 35-hour state visit, his first after assuming office in May last year.<br />
 <br />
He resolved the 41-year old LBA issue for swap of enclaves, but the Teesta water-sharing deal remains to be sealed.</p>

<p>Modi and Sheikh Hasina witnessed the historic exchange on Saturday, the first day of his maiden Dhaka visit.<br />
 <br />
Modi came to Dhaka with LBA as “centrepiece” as it was due to his singular drive that the 41-year old deal finally entered the process of implementation.<br />
 <br />
Spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs Vikas Swarup also tweeted:<br />
 <br />
“'Historic' doesn't really do justice to this red-letter day. Exchange of Instruments of Ratification of LBA”.<br />
 <br />
Modi after his arrival in Dhaka on a two-day state visit went to the National Memorial at Savar and then visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum where Bangladesh’s founding father was assassinated.<br />
 <br />
He later came to his place of residence, Pan Pacific Sonargoan, and left for Prime Minister’s Office after meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.<br />
 <br />
Banerjee is on his entourage, though she arrived separately, as the LBA issue is directly related with her state.</p>
<p>With the LBA implementation, the stateless life of more than 50,000 people in 161 enclaves on both sides of the border would end.</p>
<p>Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar signed those documents before they exchanged them in presence of two prime ministers.</p>
